A MAN has appeared in court at Dumfries following an alleged incident at Langholm earlier this week.

Ian Ramsay, 42, of Sydenham Court, Kelso, was accused of running away from police to avoid detection at Meikleholmside, Langholm, on Tuesday, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and also denied behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards his partner and police officers, shouting and swearing, repeatedly banging a door, making threats to commit suicide and cutting his wrist with a kitchen knife.
Trial was set for September.
