Desperate search for missing Dr Porteous heats up

POLICE deployed their under water unit today in the search for a missing doctor.

Dr George Alex Porteous left work at Lockerbie Medical Practice at about 6 pm on Tuesday evening and has not been seen since.

And concern is growing for Dr Porteous after his car was found parked near Beeswing – but with no trace of him.

Speaking today, a police spokeswoman said: “Our searches will continue today for missing person George Porteous. The search will continue to focus on the Beeswing/Loch Arthur area and will be co-ordinated by a Police Scotland search manager.

“We will deploy our underwater unit, police dogs and Police Scotland’s Mountain Rescue team today to help search the area.

“Anyone with information in relation to this missing person investigation is asked to contact Police Scotland 101 quoting incident number 3660 of 18th September 2018.”
