The yard at Solway Gas in King Street, Dumfries was entered by the pair at about 12.10 am on Saturday and they stole several 15kg and 7kg Calor Gas blue coloured cylinders stolen.
The value of the cylinders is around £800.
Police are investigating and Constable Pauling Kirk said: “Clearly there would have to be a vehicle involved in the removal of these cylinders and we are asking anyone who may have been in or around the King Street area in the early hours of Saturday morning if they saw or heard anything suspicious.
“There is no description of the two men seen at the premises. Callers can call us on the 101 number to pass on information and should use the reference number 0776 17/11.”
