DECEMBER 21 1988 — a day that Lockerbie will never forget.

For on that mild December night, as townsfolk prepared for Christmas, Lockerbie was changed forever when Pan Am Flight 103 fell from the sky, killing 259 in the air and 11 on the ground.

This week, the Annandale Herald, Lockerbie’s local newspaper, pays tribute to victims and honours the brave townsfolk.

This week’s edition includes an eight-page special feature that shares the amazing stories of those who witnessed the night and those who helped, it looks at remembrance events this weekend, how Lockerbie has moved on and focuses on those who keep the legacy alive and who work hard day and night to make Lockerbie the vibrant, caring and happy community that it is today.
