EXTRA time has been given to the South West Scotland Transport Study and views can now be submitted until September 20.

The move has been welcomed by Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson. He said: “The South West Transport Study is an absolutely vital report for the future transport infrastructure of this region. “I welcome the fact that there is now going to be a further opportunity for local people and stakeholders to make sure their voices are fully known. There are a lot of exciting projects in the draft report to potentially upgrade our road and rail network but we must show they have local support.

“If you have not already done so I would encourage you to respond to the consultation to ensure we secure the transport upgrades we so desperately need to boost the local economy.”
