In 2018-19, 77.4 per cent of eligible women attended for cervical screening locally.
It was an increase on the previous year’s total of 76.7 per cent.
And it was also better than the Scottish average of 73.1 per cent.
Commenting, Robert Music, ceo of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, said: “This shows that reversing the trend of falling attendance is not impossible and it’s vital this continues.”
