The Kiltwalk is coming!

ONE of Scotland’s biggest charity events, The Kiltwalk, is coming to Dumfries.

The six-mile pop-up event takes place on Saturday November 9, and will see walkers set off from Dock Park, heading towards Summerhill, before looping back into town and finishing at the park bandstand.

Walkers can choose to raise funds for any charity they wish.

And the event will have the support of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation, which means all funds raised are boosted by 40 per cent. This means for every pound raised, £1.40 goes to charity.

Paul Cooney, CEO of Kiltwalk, said: “We simply want to bring the Kiltwalk to areas of the country where people might not get the chance to sample the magic of the UK’s fastest growing mass participation charity event.

“The six-mile route is perfect for all the family, even dogs, and our Kiltie volunteers will be on hand to give everyone a cheer along the way. We can’t wait to see Dumfries turn tartan, so come on folks, grab your walking boots and get registered!”

ALDI Scotland are the official supermarket partners for Kiltwalk and will be fuelling walkers on their way with snacks, water and fruit along the route. Walkers will also be supplied with merchandise from platinum sponsor, Arnold Clark.

Adult registration is £10, and £5 for children: Under-fives go free.
