Caravan stolen

A CARAVAN worth £15,000 has been stolen from Moffat.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft which happened sometime between 2.30 pm and 5 pm on Tuesday.

The cream and grey coloured Fendt make caravan was stolen from the Hammerlands Caravan Park and officers believe it was towed away by a 4 x 4.

It is 30 foot long and has a double axle and is similar to the model pictured above.

Constable Theresa Rankine at Lockerbie said: “This caravan was stolen from the caravan site while the occupants were away for the day.  We are appealing to anyone who may have been around the Moffat area on Tuesday to call us if they have seen this caravan being towed.  There are not many caravans on the road at this time of year so we are hoping that a sighting of this one might have caused comment.  “We think that the caravan was spotted being towed out of Moffat around 3.05pm on Tuesday on the A701, near the Benmar Garage, and was being towed by a grey coloured 4 x 4 vehicle.”

Anyone who has any information which might help in the inquiry is asked to call officers on the 101 number, quoting the reference number 2761 3 December 2019.  Calls can also be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
