Police Scotland are encouraging the public to take part in a survey setting out what the priorities should be for officers at both local and national level.
Chief inspector Nicola Robison at Dumfries said: “Local policing is central to Police Scotland and as such officers in Dumfries and Galloway would like to know what issues the community think we should prioritise, both locally and nationally.
“Views of our local community are important to us and we are committed to using this information to shape our policing priorities. Analysing the feedback obtained through the survey, and looking at data from a number of other important sources such as local and national crime trends will allow us to set policing priorities.
“This is an important route for the public to communicate with us and we want to listen and understand the views and opinions of diverse communities to ensure we get our priorities right for the people we serve.”
The survey can be found at https://consult.scotland.police.uk/your-police/consultation and it runs until December 31.
