Mundell marks Holocaust Memorial Day

IT IS vitally important the horrific mass murder of European Jews and other minorities in World War Two is never forgotten.

That was the message from Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell, above, when he again signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment.

The annual ceremony at Westminster was part of the lead up to Holocaust Memorial Day which involved numerous events across the UK on Monday (27/1/2020).

Mr Mundell, who last year took part in a march in Budapest highlighting Hungary’s Holocaust Memorial Day, has been a long-time supporter of the Educational Trust’s work, particularly in schools.

He said this week: “As this genocide moves from living memory, to history, it becomes ever more important that we take the time to remember the six million victims and also pay tribute to the survivors.”
