FOOTBALLERS from across Annandale and Eskdale displayed a pitch perfect performance at a national tournament hosted on home soil.

Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sport Group, in partnership with Annandale and Eskdale Leisure and Sport and Annan Athletic FC, held the five-a-side football tournament for people with a disability at Galabank last Thursday. And a full morning of football was enjoyed by all eight of the competing teams – which included two home sides from Annandale and Eskdale, a team from Trinity House at Lockerbie, two squads from Stirling and three teams from Claremont Colts in East Kilbride.

George Morrison, chairman of Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sport, said: “I would like to thank all the teams for coming along and congratulate all the footballers who took part on their efforts and their great sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament.
“I would also like to thank Annan Athletic FC for their assistance on the day and for the use of their facilities and the clubhouse and for all who helped on the day to make the event run so smoothly.”
