SCOTS 2/1 shot Bunker came through the field for a powerful finish in a sprint race at Gretna greyhound racing on Friday night.

The two-year-old dog, owned and trained by Buff Douglas at Stranraer, stormed down the home straight to win by 4.25 lengths.

He was followed home by Brian Lee, a three-year-old dog from Borders-based businessman Rab Hyslop.

There was a nail-biting finish in the 8.20 sprint trip when main fancy Dupe, from the unconnected Hyslop kennels at Kilmarnock, successfully fought off a challenge from Cumbrian-based Razor Rick to win by a head in a photo-finish.

Later, the same Kilmarnock trainer had to be satisfied with second spot over the same distance when Joy came home behind favourite Moth, trained in Ayrshire at the Hillen kennels.
