THE man who was killed on the A710 last week has been named.

He was Derek Roscoe, 79, from Kirkbean.

Mr Roscoe was fatally injured while cycling on the Dumfries to Dalbeattie road last Tuesday, August 25.

Police investigations into his death are continuing.

Sergeant Leigh McCulloch, of Dumfries and Galloway Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Roscoe’s family at this sad time. I would ask that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the cyclist on the road or have any information that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3297 of 25 August, 2020.
