The new audiobook of J.M. Barrie’s classic Peter Pan: The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up will feature well-known voices such as Kit Harrington, Joanna Lumley and David Walliams, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust, which gives people the opportunity to step into the Dumfries house Barrie lived in as a youngster.
Having often referred to Moat Brae as an ‘enchanted land’, the house and its surroundings were a great source of inspiration for the original Peter Pan story he wrote as a play.
Profits generated by the sales will also go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, who were gifted the rights to Peter Pan by Barrie in 1929.
Patron of the Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust, and star of the new audiobook, Joanna Lumley said: “He haunts us all: Peter Pan has never grown up and has never let us forget him. The new take on the timeless tale will be released on November 19.
