Annan and Eskdale

TWO Annan Distillery representatives have hit the road on their motorbikes as part of a research mission.

Annan Distillery manager Malcolm Rennie and whisky writer and publisher Neil Wilson got on their bikes to tour a lost distillery in Eskdale.
Neil, whose book The Lost Distilleries of Scotland was the inspiration for the Annan Distillery take-over and re-vamp, was driving his father’s new motorbike and Malcolm was on board a speedy Ducatti Diavel.
The pair departed from Annan on Thursday morning on an Esk Valley research trip to Glen Tarras, Langholm.
Discussing the road trip, Neil said: “Me and Malcolm had been working together for a while before we realised that we are both bikers.
“We thought the research trip would be more interesting if we added the motorbikes into the mix.”
Neil confirmed that Glen Tarras will never be a functioning distillery again and there were no plans in the pipeline to take it over
