Police Scotland has released new figures showing that on Christmas Day officers dispersed 21 people in Dumfriesshire and two in Galloway.
On Boxing Day, when the new level four restrictions came into force, they dispersed ten people regionwide.
Numbers were higher on New Year’s Eve when 45 were talked to in Dumfriesshire and one person fined, while 20 were dispersed in Galloway.
And it continued on New Year’s Day when there were three people fined in Dumfriesshire for breaches, while 30 were dispersed, along with 15 dispersals in Galloway.
Since lockdown started last March, overall officers in this region have dispersed 1939 people and in another 17 cases they have had to use ‘reasonable force’.
They have issued a total of 105 fixed penalty notices to people who have broke the rules and made 35 arrests.
Furthermore, six fixed penalties have been given out in locally relation to travel.
