Flood warning

A FLOOD warning has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway.

Rainfall is expected to hit the region during the early hours of Tuesday, January 19 and will persist throughout the  rest of the day.

Although uncertainty remains over where the worst affected areas will be, flooding of low-lying land and roads from small rivers and surface water is possible, with travel disruption expected as a result.

In a statement, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) said: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

“Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.”
