The discovery was made at about 4 am this morning (Fri) in woodland near Twynholm.
And police have confirmed it is that of Isaac Corrie, aged 20, who was reported missing earlier this week.
His family have been informed.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal,
“Police would like to extend thanks to the local community who assisted officers last night.”
