VANDALS once again broke in to Lockerbie Golf Club’s club house at the weekend.

The ladies locker room was entered sometime overnight between Friday and Saturday morning.
Committee member Kenny Key explained that nothing had been taken but a unit had been damaged in what was thought was an attempt to find money.
The club has fallen victim to thieves and vandals several times in the past year,
In March joyriders snuck on to the course and cruised around on the club’s buggies, causing damage to the site before leaving the buggies caked in mud.
And in December last year thieves stole jerry cans and a petrol strimmer, while in October 2014 £800 worth of goods, including a golf buggie, were stolen from the club.
However the club are now set to erect CCTV and additional alarm systems to ward off further trouble makers.
Kenny said: “We are strapped for cash as it is, but these investments will be worthwhile. It really should have been done sooner.”
