Moffat Museum reopens

NEW displays have been organised for the reopening of Moffat Museum.

And careful arrangements have been made to allow visitors to remain socially distant and safe.

A museum spokeswoman said: “Arrangements for visitors will be very different as we try and manage our way through these difficult times, but we are really excited to be opening our doors to the public.”

For the moment, the museum will open on four days per week, Friday to Monday, but they hope to extend this, if feasible, later in the year. Visitor sessions will be at half hourly intervals from 10.30 am, but 1.30 pm on Sundays, till the last admission at 3 pm, with carefully managed maximum numbers in the museum.

The spokeswoman added: “There is lots to see at the museum and we have some interesting new displays.

“Our temporary exhibition, Dowding – The Man, is a detailed exploration of the life of Lord Dowding, described as the ‘Architect of Deliverance’ for his pivotal role in the Battle of Britain.

“We hope to see you soon.”
