New health centre for Annan

MIDWIFERY, podiatry and mental health services in Annan will all be under one roof from Monday.

A new health centre is set to open at Annan Hospital, replacing the services currently delivered from the Charles Street Clinic.

Health visiting, bladder and bowel health and Macmillan Cancer Support will all transfer to the new location.

Building work on the new centre has been completed and NHS bosses say it will provide ‘modern, comfortable, clinically effective and technology enabled’ accommodation for staff and patients.

Locality general manager for health and social care

Gary Sheehan said: “The new premises will further strengthen our commitment to deliver excellent, person-centred community health and social care in an integrated way.

“Local people will be able to access a range of services at the health centre and the new accommodation will help foster much closer working between the different services and teams.

“Despite the pressures of covid over the last 12 months, we are pleased to open a new health centre in Annan that is both fit for purpose and has a welcoming and comfortable environment.”

The building will also have rooms available to book that can be used by other partner organisations and groups.

Any enquiries on the new building or services provided can be made to Annan Clinic by calling 01461 202017.
