Green Skills Academy set up

DUMFRIES and Galloway College has launched its new Green Skills Academy.

The programme brings together existing courses with a selection of new learning opportunities themed around sustainability and green technology to upskill those within the region to work on the renewable energy systems of tomorrow and help us achieve net zero.

There will be opportunities at both the Stranraer and Dumfries Campuses in a full remit of green subject areas, including solar, hydro, wind, geothermal, and biomass technologies.

College principal Joanna Campbell, pictured, said: “I am thrilled to see the creation of our Green Skills Academy, which will work to promote green skills learning and teaching at both our campuses.

“The skills and experience our students will gain from these courses will undoubtedly have a hugely positive impact on them, those they work with, and the environment in which we live and work.”
