Fans head back

LOCHMABEN are welcoming back supporters for the first time on Saturday since early last year.

Social distancing measures will be in place for fans at Whitehills when Lochmaben take on Saltcoats Victoria with a kick-off at 2.30 pm. Another fixture has been arranged against Ruthwell on July 2.

Recently, Lochmaben faced Annan Athletic in a closed-door friendly match. Annan — with all their first team squad present — ran out comfortable 5-0 winners.

Lochmaben head coach Colin Robson said: “I’m pleased with how well the guys played given that this was their first pre-season match. We had a few new experienced faces in the side and they gave a good account of themselves.”

Meanwhile, Mid Annandale lost 3-1 to Lowland League side Dalbeattie Star at New King Edward Park.
