MOFFAT Academy has made a u-turn on a dress code policy which meant pupils were restricted to wearing either trousers or a skirt.
Earlier this month boys were sent home from school after they turned up in shorts on one of the hottest days of the year.
In retaliation, 16-year-old Shane Richardson came in the next day wearing his sister’s skirt, complaining that classrooms are too hot due to air conditioning being turned off because of covid.
And last week parents were informed of changes to the rules, which now state that as long as pupils wear a white shirt and school tie, they can sport whatever they like on their bottom half.
However, youngsters were reminded their choices should be smart and matching school colours.
