TWO new trains will run between Lockerbie, Glasgow and Manchester from next month.
TransPennine announced this week that two additional daily services will commence from Monday, August 16, leaving Manchester Airport at 9.10 am and Glasgow Central at 1.08 pm, excluding Sundays.
Trains northbound from Lockerbie will call at Motherwell and Glasgow Central, whilst southbound services will call at Carlisle, Penrith, Oxenholme, Lancaster, Preston, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.
Commenting on the planned changes, Luke Gardner, long term planning timetable manager for TransPennine Express, said: “We are thrilled to be able to introduce these extra services for those looking to take the train as part of their next adventure.
“We are expecting our trains on the route to and from Glasgow to be popular and wanted to introduce some extra services to accommodate this. We are looking forward to welcoming our customers onboard and I would encourage people to plan their journeys in advance and book ahead.”
