New name for outlet village

A SHOPPING centre in the region has changed its name.

Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is now officially known as Caledonia Park.

The move is part of a rebrand for the site, which opened in 1999.

Explaining more, centre manager Scott Wells said: “This is a very exciting chapter for all of us, and for the local area.

“Now, as Caledonia Park, we believe we can do even more to attract great brands to Scotland, while continuing to raise the profile of the local area.

“Once the Star of Caledonia is constructed, it’s clear that the combination of a new tourist attraction and Caledonia Park will make our corner of Scotland an even more compelling place to stop, visit and enjoy.”

And he revealed where the new name came from, saying it was chosen because ‘it conjures up the beauty and romance of our home’ and is a ‘nods to the natural splendour of the local area’.

Mr Wells added: “Like me, I’m sure you’re excited to watch the village transition to the Caledonia Park brand over the coming months. After investing heavily in our refurbishment, it’s only right that we give ourselves a brand to be proud of – a brand that’s right for our retailers, our customers, and our community in 2022 and beyond.”
