GOALKEEPER Sol Brynn is adamant Queen of the South can pick up the victory against Ayr on Saturday.

The on-loan Middlesbrough shotstopper has been in great form and picked up two clean sheets on the bounce.

The youngster believes the Doonhamers have improved and can only get better.

He said: “I think we’re turning the corner now, definitely. We’ve had two good results on the bounce and two clean sheets.

“I’m looking forward to the game on Saturday against Ayr.

“I don’t see why we can’t win it. If we play the way we played on Friday night we can beat anyone on their day.”

Brynn pulled off a number of excellent stops in Queens’ 2-0 SPFL Trust Trophy tie against Partick. And he believes Queens can go all the way in the cup.

He added: “I thought we executed our game plan perfectly against Partick.

“I just spread myself and their late chance just hit me in the end. That’s what you need to do as a goalkeeper.

“I think you can see by the team we put out that we really wanted to win on Friday and do well in this competition.”

Brynn is the second Middlesbrough youngster to come to Palmerston on loan and he admitted ex-Queens loanee Isaiah Jones played a big part on him coming to Scotland.

He said: “When the gaffer rang me I spoke to Izzy and he recommended Queens. He said the club had great fans and he loved the area and said he had a brilliant time.”
