Full speed ahead for car rally milestone year

ONE of the region’s biggest events is set to make a return after a two-year covid hiatus.

Preparations are being made for Moffat Classic Car Rally to go ahead next year, and organiser Gordon Bisset is already getting revved up for the highlight of the summer.

The 2022 rally will also mark 25 years since the first event, a special milestone for all involved.

Speaking this week, Gordon said: “Things are going in the right direction, and I felt it was right to plan for next year.

“Entries are already flooding in and some people already have their accommodation arranged and booked.

“I am delighted with the response so far.”

The rally will take place over two days, June 25 and 26, and will include the much-loved runs around the Moffat hills as well as displays of vehicles, stalls, food and entertainment.
