Aid calendar launched for Janet

A CALENDAR has been created in memory of a former Moffat GP who helped raise money for healthcare in Malawi.

Janet Robertson worked as a GP in Hamilton and Moffat but sadly died from cancer in 2012.

She made many visits to Malawi helping raise funds for Mission hospitals which help support Malawi’s poorly funded government hospitals, and left money in her will to build an orphanage in the capital, Lilongwe. Janet’s niece, Mairi Crosby, from Moffat, has now produced a calendar with a friend, Rowan Franks, from Edinburgh.

They have combined photos from Scotland as well as from Mairi’s visit to Malawi in 2019 to visit her sister, Anna, who was on a student placement there.

n Calendars are available, if desired, from Cara Gael in Moffat.
