The Scottish Government this morning confirmed that the highly pathogenic H5N1 was found there yesterday.
It comes a week after sick birds were discovered at a farm at Kirkpatrick Fleming.
A new three kilometre Protection Zone (PZ) and ten kilometre Surveillance Zone (SZ) have been declared, which took effect from 9.30 pm last night.
This means movement restrictions within these zones – for example, poultry, carcasses, eggs, used poultry litter and manure – to prevent any further spread of disease.
Anyone found to be flouting restrictions can face a fine.
Keepers can find out if their premises is in the PZ or SZ on an interactive map on the government website. You are in a PZ/SZ if the whole or part of your premises falls within the zone.
Vigilance by bird keepers is important and any suspicion of disease should be reported immediately to the local Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) office.
