Florist blasts decoration vandals

FESTIVE decorations at a Lockerbie florists have been vandalised this week.

All Things Rosie shared news of the vandalism on social media on Wednesday.

It is believed their Christmas lights were ripped off the front of the shop, above, which is in Caledonian Place, sometime Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Writing on Facebook, owner Kaye Redpath said: “Not the post I want to be posting whilst I am enjoying my festive break but last night some one decided to vandalise the branches around the door to my shop.

“I am truly upset that someone has decided to do this so if any one noticed anything suspicious last night between 10.30 pm and 1 am this morning, or if you did it and you would like to own up I would be grateful to hear!”

And Lockerbie Community Council chairwoman Jan Andrews has blasted the “mindless” vandalism.

She said: “What’s the point in that disruption? After the year we’ve all had and having to stay at home, all the businesses are trying to do is cheer up the town. Why someone has decided to destroy this? It’s disgraceful.”
