Holiday site goes on the market

A PUB and holiday lodge complex near Dumfries is up for sale.

Overlooking the Solway Firth, the Beagle Country Pub and Barend Holiday Lodges are only a few minutes’ walk from the beach.

And they are on the market with leisure property specialist Fleurets, at a guide price of £825,000.

Combined, the properties benefit from various income streams including the bar and restaurant trade, and an outdoor courtyard

There are also revenue streams from the heated indoor pool which sits adjacent to the pub, the management services from 38 lodges, letting and cleaning services for lodges and the holiday cottage income.

In addition, there is a private two storey owner’s house as well as a static caravan for staff accommodation.

The properties have recently undergone an upgrade throughout, which has resulted in increasing profitability year on year.

Current owner Sarah Gell said: “We have turned the business around from a turnover of £450,000 to £950,000; increased the properties renting with us from 29 to 38; and heavily invested in plant, machinery, training and upgrades whilst still turning a profit. The business is now in a strong position to benefit from the rapid growth in staycations with a captive pub audience, and we look forward to the opportunity to take on a new venture.”
