Half-term fun at the cathedral
CHILDREN can find out more about the history of Carlisle Cathedral at a series of events being held during this February half-term.
The activities are part of the cathedral’s 900th anniversary celebrations and will explore its role as a place of pilgrimage and rest throughout the centuries.
Free activities include a history trail around the cathedral where children can discover its hidden treasures, as well as a drop in art workshop beginning at 10 am on Thursday, February 17.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times and accompanying adults are free but must book their place in order to monitor numbers.
Head of heritage learning at Carlisle Cathedral Sarah Cameron said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer these activities during February half-term which provide an opportunity for children to find out more about the Cathedral and its history. All our events are indoors, so provide a good option if the weather isn’t great, and we’ve taken steps to ensure the necessary Covid measures are in place.”
