Booster appointment issues

NHS Dumfries and Galloway say they are aware of issues around appointments for over 75s for their second covid booster jag.

Health bosses explained that a national appointing system is being employed for people within this age group across Scotland.

And locally, an issue has been identified where a small number of people have been asked to attend scheduled vaccination clinics some distance from their registered abode.

A spokesman said: “We apologise for the distress that this has caused, and are keen to promote that anyone who receives an appointment via the national system for a clinic some distance from where they live should get in touch with our local helpline number, calling 01387 403090 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Alternatively, email [email protected]

“We will seek to accommodate anyone in this situation within a clinic closer to their home.”
