Officers are appealing for witnesses after receiving a report regarding a child being approached by a man whilst within the park on Lochside Road, near McDonalds at about 7.30 pm.
The man exchanged words with the child before apparently chasing the child a short distance along Lochside Road towards the church. It is reported the male thereafter possibly entered a white vehicle before leaving the area in an unknown direction. The child returned home unharmed.
