‘Daniel’ charity match raises over £900

A CHARITY football match in memory of a Lochmaben man who passed away last year has raised over £900.

Mental health charity Back Onside held the match at Whitehills Park against Lochmaben FC last Sunday.

The match saw Back Onside Select play local team Lochmaben FC and take home the trophy in an 8-7 victory.

A number of local and well-known football players were on show for an entertaining match.

Back Onside founder and CEO Libby Emmerson said: “A big thank you to Oscar and Lisa for arranging a charity football match in memory of Daniel Blackwood and in aid of Back Onside at the weekend.

“It was a fantastic day in memory of a special man which raised an amazing £946.50.

“Thank you so much guys. We are so grateful for all your efforts and fundraising.

“Every penny will go towards supporting those in need of help with their mental health and we could not do what we do without fundraisers like you.”
