Firearms surrender

DUMFRIES and Galloway Police Division are taking part in the national firearms surrender campaign this month with the National Ballistics Intelligence Service.

This will give members of the public the opportunity to hand in any unwanted or illegal firearms and ammunition to designated police stations across the region.

They can be handed in anonymously and reassurances have been given that those taking part will not face prosecution at the point of surrendering a firearm or ammunition until Sunday May 29.

For information on where to surrender, how to transport a weapon safely or to find out more about the campaign visit http://ow.ly/3fmb50J3F1l.
