Marathon effort in memory of Papa George

READY TO RUN . . . Owen Muir is on his marks to run the Edinburgh Marathon this weekend in aid of a cause close to his heart.

Owen, of Lockerbie, is undertaking the challenge on behalf of the Shankland family in memory of his Papa George, pictured together, and money raised will be used to buy a defibrillator to go outside Dryfesdale Church Hall.

As a man of great faith, a church elder and member of the choir, the church was a place close to George’s heart.

So far on his online fundraising page Owen has raised £1155, which will be used to purchase a life-saving device which will be accessible to the whole community
