Secretary of State celebrates Platinum Jubilee

SECRETARY of State for Scotland Alister Jack has wished the Queen well regarding her Platinum Jubilee.

This comes ahead of the weekend of events to mark the Queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne of Great Britain, including the lighting of over 2,000 beacons across the United Kingdom to commemorate her reign.

Alister Jack said: “I send my heartfelt congratulations to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on her Platinum Jubilee.

“The Jubilee is a reminder of what an extraordinary life The Queen has led. She has been, and continues to be, a dignified and hardworking figurehead to the nation. Not just dedicated, but compassionate, warm and humorous.

“I know people across Scotland will join me in wishing her the very best on this huge milestone, and thanking her for her lifetime of service.”
