Pop up will encourage kindness

DUMFRIES will soon be home to the world’s first ever kindness shop.

Aptly named the ‘Kinder Shop’, it will be a unique one-day pop up in the Loreburn Centre next week.

And money won’t be required – instead, customers will pay for items with kindness. They will ‘buy’ items by promising their time to local charities.

Funded by the Cumberland Building Society, the store will look like an upmarket lifestyle shop and will contain stock worth thousands of pounds collectively.

It is being set up to show what a difference kindness can make in our communities and that time is sometimes the most valuable thing we can give.

Charities benefitting from this event will include Mossburn Community Farm, Kate’s Kitchen, Queen of the South Trust and The Bridge.

The event will take place on Monday June 20 from 10 am – 4 pm, located at Unit B of the Loreburn Centre in Dumfries.
