A BORELAND based charity has been awarded £1000 to help provide disabled people with the chance to enjoy pony carriage racing throughout the summer.

The funding has been awarded to Sport Driving Unlimited (SDU) as part of Benefact Groups’ Movement for Good Awards. Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts and SDU was drawn at random.

SDU chairperson Brenda Hodgson said: “We are thrilled and very grateful that many of our supporters nominated SDU to be one of the winners of this award.

“We will use the funding to deliver lots of pony carriage driving sessions throughout the summer.”

Mark Hews, of Benefact Group, added: “We know that £1000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
