'Disappointing' day for driver

ROSS Wylie from Thornhill combined with his teammate to maintain their top-six finishing record despite unfortunate team errors in the British GT Championship.

Ross and Matty Graham finished fifth in both of the two one-hour races in the GT4S class of the British GT Championship at Snetterton on Sunday.

Ross started the opening race from fifth and held position before handing over the Matty at mid-distance. Matty was in fourth less than a second behind third. However, moments after this he had to serve a stop-go penalty. He recovered well and classified fifth at the chequered flag.

Matty was third after ten minutes in race two, Ross took over the Porsche with 25 minutes left. After a time consuming pit-stop, he was classified in fifth at the chequered flag.

After the race, Ross said: “They were both completely avoidable errors which most likely cost Matty and I a win or second in the opening race and maybe a podium in Race 2 which makes the final results disappointing.”

Ross now lies fourth in the GT4 Silver Cup standings. Round seven is staged in Belgium on July 23 and 24.
