AN ANNAN man is having a well earned rest after finishing a month-long fundraiser.

John Patterson raised £1850 for the Catherine Street Inclusion Park in Dumfries by running a 5K every single day during the month of June.

He took along his daughter Danielle to hand over the cheque, and was welcomed with open arms for his efforts.

John said: “This park does so much for the community and especially those with special needs.

“It’s been an absolutely fantastic challenge and I’ve loved every single minute of it! Also, I loved fundraising for this great cause and knowing that it’s so generally appreciated.

“Thank you to every single one of you for all the support, words of encouragement and kind messages.”

As well as running a garage in Annan with his brother, John takes part in countless fundraising events non-stop during his spare time.

Over the past three years, he has amassed £43,500 for different charities across the UK, many of them local.

Among his achievements during the past month, John has gone on a Park Run at the Crichton and completed the Carlisle For The Castle 5K, coming in the top 50 for both events.
