Slowing fashion down

THE first Dumfries Slow Fashion Festival, Rock for Re:Dress, will take place at the Loreburn Hall next month.

Hosted by Dumfries Slow Fashion Movement and Circle Vintage, Rock for Re:Dress is the first slow fashion festival in Scotland: a fashion and music extravaganza with an environmental message.

The event is being organised by eccentric fashion enthusiasts and Circle Vintage owners and Marie and Dan McKinnon, right, who are excited to bring slow fashion to a wider audience, Dan said: “It’s going to be like Live Aid for slow fashion.”

Attendees can expect fabulous fashion; live music from local acts like The Cherry Pinks, The Fuzzkills and many more, along with exciting special guest performers and plenty of slow fashion info, bringing an autumn festival vibe to Dumfries for the first time.

Rock for Re:Dress takes place on Saturday October 15 at the Loreburn Hall, doors open at 5.30 pm. Tickets are on sale now at the Circle Vintage shop on Bank Street.
