Eagles in the spotlight

MOFFAT Golden Eagle Festival will go ahead this weekend.

Festival organisers have decided to go ahead with the festival as planned, following the death of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Scotland’s first and only eagle town will host the second annual festival, offering a wide programme of activities for all ages from Friday to Sunday.

Activities on offer during the three-day festival include, meet an eagle, talks from guest speakers Gordon Buchanan and Laurie Campbell as well as a family fun day at Hope Johnstone Park on Sunday.

The festival is organised by South Scotland Golden Eagle Project (SSEP) to promote the population growth of Golden Eagles in the hills surrounding Moffat.
