HELPING businesses is the focus of two events in Dumfries next week.

There will be celebrations at The Bridge on Wednesday for Digital Difference Day.

Business Gateway, in association with Dumfries and Galloway Council, is hosting a free ‘Digital Difference Day’ Business expo as part of Scottish Business Week.

Keynote speakers will include Karen Riddick of Second Nature Online, Andy Todman from 5G Connect and Amy Muirhead from David Allen Accountants.

Visitors will be able to meet local suppliers and exhibitors to discuss topics such as connectivity and broadband, EPOS systems and web design and development. There will also be a series of short interactive workshops on topics such as local SEO and social media, with the aim of helping businesses perform better online.

The event is primarily aimed at newly started businesses.

Meanwhile, Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce is holding their own DG Business Expo at Easterbrook Hall on Thursday October 6.

It will feature 44 local businesses exhibiting their products and services.

Organiser Suzanne Mitchell said: “We are looking forward to showcasing the diverse selection of businesses in Dumfries and Galloway. The event coincides with Business Gateway’s Business Week and is open for anyone to attend.”
