A SPECIAL tribute was paid to Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes rider Adam Cloy on Wednesday.
Adam sadly passed away at the age of 45 after a battle with cancer.
Born and bred in the region, he joined Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes (DGBB) five years and ago and was an active rider, up until his illness. Adam regularly volunteered for shifts delivering essential blood and urgent medical supplies between NHS hospitals and healthcare sites across the region.
And his fellow volunteers wanted to ensure he was given an appropriate send off.
On Wednesday 21 DGBB riders and riders from the Galloway Gremlins and the Galloway Motorcycle Club, of which Adam was a member, escorted his funeral procession from his home in Dumfries to the Roucan Loch Crematorium.
In a further tribute, DGBB have also named their new car after Adam. Speaking about the loss of his friend, DGBB chairperson Dave Hook said: “Adam was a gentle giant of a man who will be sadly missed by us all. He always had a smile on his face and lived his life to the full. He achieved the goals he set himself.
“He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to many, sadly taken far too young.
“Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes are proud and honoured to be able to name our new car, Adam, in memory of a true friend.
“Our love, thoughts and support go to Adam’s family. Rest in peace and ride with the angels my friend.”
