Unexplained deaths probe

POLICE have launched an investigation after a man and a woman were found dead in a seaside village in the region.

Officers were called out to an address on Merse Way, in Kippford, on Wednesday afternoon.

It has been confirmed that two people had been found dead at the scene and their deaths were yesterday being treated as unexplained and inquiries into the incident were ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.20 pm on Wednesday, January 25, police were called to an address in Merse Way, Kippford, near Dalbeattie.

“A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
