A GROUP of hardy swimmers are preparing to brave the cold and go for a dip in Lochmaben tomorrow morning.
They will be taking part in the World Cancer Day Dip in the burgh’s Kirk Loch on Saturday morning in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer.
Abbie McNeill came up with the idea to hold a local dip and has been delighted at the response.
She said: “It’s for a good cause. And all that’s required is to remain within your depth, crouch down to the waters at the neck, cold water dip for max of five mins. Done.”
“The more the merrier.”
Although registration is now closed for the national dip, supporters are encouraged to go along on Saturday to cheer on the dippers.
