Sports shops hit by thefts

TWO sports stores at the Caledonia Park shopping mall in Gretna have been targeted by thieves on three different occasions this month.

At 1.30 pm on Friday February 10 at the Adidas store, a man and woman removed three pairs of trainers without paying or making any effort to do so. He was white, bald, in his mid 40s, about five foot nine tall and of medium build and was wearing a blue hoody. The woman is described as white and of medium build, about five foot tall with black hair and wearing a black North Face jacket with black jeans.

Next, at about 2 pm on Saturday February 11, a man and woman stole three pairs of trainers and a hoody from the Adidas Store. Police say the duo spent a bit of time within the shop working together to do so and to evade being seen.

The man is described as being white, aged 30-40, about five foot five tall and of large build with black hair/beard. He was wearing a red puffed jacket and black jeans. The woman is described as white, aged 30-40, five foot eight tall and slim with long black hair and was wearing a beige puffed jacket and leggings.

The final incident was between midday and 12.12 pm on Thursday February 16 at the Nike store, when another man and woman have worked together to remove six pairs of trainers without paying for them or making any effort to pay. One acted as a lookout while the other removed the trainers from boxes into a bag.

The man is described as white, five foot nine tall with black hair and black facial hair, while the woman was white, slim, five foot seven tall with black hair and aged early-mid 20s.

Police are appealing for information and can be contacted via the 101 number.
